Train Like an Olympian in Your Own Living Room

If you are anything like me, you have spent a lot of time in the past two weeks in front of the television watching some of the most amazing athletes in the world compete.  You have probably been admiring the determination, sculpted bodies, and true passion and pride these athletes have for their sport while representing their country to the best of their ability.  Well now that the Olympics are over it’s time to get off the couch!  Just because you may have missed your calling to compete at an Olympic level doesn’t mean you can’t train like an Olympic athlete!  I truly believe there is an athlete inside everyone, it’s just a matter of digging deep and bringing that athlete out of hiding though hard work and focus.

Here is a quick workout you can do to help lose unwanted body fat, burn a bunch of calories, and get you one step closer to finding the Olympic athlete inside yourself:

Equipment needed: stop watch or interval timer and that’s it!

Perform each exercise for 30 seconds then rest for 10 seconds before moving on to the next exercise.  Once you have completed 1 full circuit (1 set of each exercise) you may take a 1-2 minute break before starting again.

COMPLETE THIS CIRCUIT 3 TIMES AND REPEAT 2-3 TIMES PER WEEK FOR THE MOST BENEFIT!

1. Squats

2. Push ups

3. Alternating lunges

4. Prone airplanes

5. Squat Jumps

6. Plank with 1 arm reach

7. Alternating lunge jumps

8. Triceps dips

9. Burpees

10.Mountainclimbers

Caution: if you suffer from ankle, hip, knee, low back pain etc. avoid jumping exercises or if pain occurs while performing any exercises stop immediately.

Sweat once a day because it’s good for the mind, body and soul, this workout will definitely get the job done!
